Day 17: Animal

this was a copy from a animal art book I have... look at all those wonderful muscles! I think the head came the best though.

Day 16: clothing

You may recognize they lady on the left...but I was doing my part for the environment, and re-used the paper. the girl on the right was, once again a study in clothing, and I think came out a good deal better than the previous one. But I will still have to practice hard if I want the clothing to ever come out as life-like as the faces I draw. (I may not be going in the order I drew them in, since by now I can't quite remember)

Day 15: perspective

I won't blow this one up....it's half finished. I'm actually skipping a few art days because they we sooo ugly. but I thought this one was okay. this a mainly a study on perspective...but I think at this stage I was still ignoring the basic principles...(trying to skip all the hard and still get a good affect), so at first glance it might look okay, but if you look long enough, you'll notice things like the way the dresser is leaning to the right, ect. hmmm...though maybe if I hadn't mentioned it, you wouldn't have.

I'm still going.

They may be a picture to go with this post in a little while...but until then, i'm just letting everybody know that the reason behind the lack of posts has to do with limited camera access.
I'm considering just using my videocamera, but of course, that will mean low quality pictures. for now, just know that haven't stopped drawing completely, i just haven't updated this site for a while.

Day 14: car. again.

Photobucket
So here is car no 2. This was supposed to be a nissan pathfinder. If you look up the path finder, you'll see that I made the nose rther short. I should also start using a circle template for the wheels since one look kinda flat, and other one looks kinda small. I'm a bit pleased with how this cam out, though it could use some more shading. ah, well, another time mayhap.

Day 13: fully body

Photobucket

Okay, this was bit of a slap-dash effort, since I waited till allmost the last minute, then threw it togeather. Still, it's loads better than my other full-body picture. One thing I've discovered when drawing full-body pictures is that I generally start small, so that the whole body will fit onto the page, then little by little, increase the size so I can fit more details in comfortably. I really need to work on drawing small details. that's you can't see my lady's feet. Drawing faces are really hard when I'm drawing a fully body, probably because I have to draw them so small. so I need to work small but realistic faces.

Day 12: a familiar face.

Photobucket

As a beginning artist, I often got the request from people who wanted to watch themselves emerge on my paper. 'will you draw me?' I usually said about being able to able to draw people I could see, and then attempted it anyway. The results were often pitiful, if not downright insulting. the above picture was an attempt at drawing...(drum roll please...) ERIN. I know that this revelation may as somewhat of a shock since almost all reslembalance begins and ends with the eyes and eyebrows. I was quite pleased with this picture to begin with, but as time went on, I began to notice that most of the remsemblance was in my head. anyways, I shall attempt something of this nature again....next week.
